Advanced Standing Precedent List (ASPL)

QUT's advanced standing policy aims to optimise student progression through award courses by recognising prior learning outcomes as the basis for satisfying some course requirements. Advanced standing may be based on formal and/or informal learning.

Precedents are provided as a guide only and should be viewed in conjunction with chosen Course, Major(s) and applicable course requirements. Refer to Studyfinder for course information.

To apply: submit an application for Advanced Standing (AS Form - PDF Document). You should be a current student or have applied for admission to a course. QTAC applicants must have received an offer before submitting an AS form.

To facilitate the processing of your application you should include the Precedent ID if one is listed in the ASPL.

NOTE: Grades less than the QUT equivalent of 4 will not be considered for Advanced Standing.
